Job Title: Engineering Manual Lathe & Milling Machine Operator Location: LS16 Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 per annum Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Job Description Lime Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Engineering Manual Lathe & Milling Machine Operator to join an established manufacturing business based in the LS16 area. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity offering stable working hours, a supportive working environment and the chance to work within a well-equipped engineering workshop producing high-quality components. The role would suit an experienced machinist who is confident setting and operating conventional manual lathes and milling machines, working from engineering drawings and producing components to a high standard. Working Hours Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:45pm Friday: 8:00am – 3:45pm Duties will include: Setting up and operating conventional manual lathes Setting up and operating milling machines Manufacturing components to engineering drawings and specifications Reading and interpreting technical drawings accurately Measuring and inspecting finished parts to ensure quality standards are met Using measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges Carrying out routine machine maintenance Maintaining good housekeeping standards in the workshop Working safely and following all company health and safety procedures Working with colleagues to meet production schedules and customer requirements The ideal candidate will have: Proven experience operating manual lathes and milling machines Experience working in an engineering or manufacturing environment Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Competence using measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges Strong attention to detail Commitment to producing high-quality work Good problem-solving skills A proactive and reliable approach to work Ability to work independently and as part of a team What’s on offer: Permanent, full-time employment Salary of £32,000 – £35,000 per year, depending on experience Stable working hours Early finish on Fridays Supportive working environment Opportunity to join a well-established engineering operation Long-term career opportunity How to Apply Apply today with your CV and a member of the Lime Recruitment team will be in touch.
